Carrie Underwood, who was the former American Idol, was making headlines with her Carnival Ride tour this year.
The added shows begin September 23 and will feature special guest star Little Big Town. Nearly 600,000 fans have been a part of the Carnival Ride Tour audience to date.
Carrie Underwood will hit 51 cities in the U.S. and Canada this fall; in addition to her wrapping the current leg with opening act Jason Michael Carroll ending June 24. She will also play a select number of fairs and festivals this summer.
The country singer has enjoyed an unbelievable year to date. She was inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry and named Top Female Vocalist at the 2008 Academy of Country Music Awards for the second consecutive time.
Her current album “Carnival Ride”, which contains the #1 co-written smash hits “So Small,” “All-American Girl” and “Last Name,” was certified double-platinum within 2 months of its release.
Her debut album, Some Hearts, was certified 7x-Platinum, becoming the best-selling solo female country debut in RIAA history and surpasses all other releases as the all-time U.S. top-selling album by any American Idol contestant.
Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood has been voted the “Most Popular American Idol” star ever. The 2005 Idol winner won 54 percent of the vote in an AOL Television poll.
Kelly Clarkson, the first Idol winner in 2002, came in a distant second for most popular, pulling in only 26 percent of the vote from 1.3 million fans that took part.
