Geri Halliwell has further fueled the Spice Girls row after claiming the credit of the group’s new single ‘Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).
Sources revealed that Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm and Melanie Brown are upset after Ginger Spice stated that she wrote the track with Emma Bunton and the others added their lyrics much later, saying, “Geri is making it clear to all who listen that she wrote it with Emma Bunton and the others added their lyrics much later.”
Recently, the other Spices were believed to be furious after Geri announced the name and release date of the new single on Oct 5.
Geri Halliwell revealed at that time, “I’m not too sure if I’m going to get in trouble for telling you this because I haven’t discussed it with the other girls. The Spice Girls’ new single is finished and it’s out on 19 November and it’s called Headlines.”
The insider added, “Geri is pushing to sing her stuff and she’s arguing they have two hours to fill and fans want to hear the solo hits. Victoria is adamant she’ll not do it and is digging her heels in. She says that, when she signed up, one stipulation was that she will not sing solo. The others are split.”
