Lil Wayne was detained on Friday after U.S. Border Patrol agents found marijuana on the rapper’s two tour buses.
The rapper and an entourage traveling with him were released after being held for several hours. His attorney shared that some of members of Wayne’s crew received citations.
The “Cash Money” lyricist was stopped while en route to a scheduled performance in Laredo, Texas. The stop was reportedly routine. After a Border Patrol K-9 smelled the drug odor, authorities searched the rapper’s two tour buses. Both vehicles were found to be carrying marijuana onboard.
