Meghan Markle talked about George Floyd and emphasizing that black lives matter after being silent about his death because she had been nervous.
The Duchess of Sussex made a speech to graduating pupils at her former school, Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles. The 38-year-old actress also remembered other African Americans who were killed in the US by police before. She thought that the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile and Tamir Rice mattered. The other three people were killed by US police over the past six years. She also considered Los Angeles as the family’s hometown after moving there with husband Prince Harry, and their son Archie. On the reason why she broke her silence about Mr. Floyd, she wasn’t sure what I could say to you. She admitted that she wanted to say the right thing and she was very nervous that it would get picked apart. Unfortunately, she realized that the only wrong thing to say is to say nothing. Meanwhile, Meghan’s six-minute virtual speech was made yesterday before the video was released to black women’s lifestyle magazine called Essence. Now, the magazine published it on its website and they also included the catchy lines: ‘courtesy of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’.
