Some people may wonder why Prince Harry won’t be wearing his military uniform at upcoming ceremonial events following the death of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Duke of Sussex hopes to keep the spotlight on his grandmother’s life and legacy. He is also reportedly more concerned with family than with fashion. In a statement, his spokesperson revealed that the royal will a morning suit throughout events honoring his grandmother. His decade of military service is not the basis of the uniform that he wears. It is reported that the 37-year-old royal will not be permitted to wear the garments at any of the five traditional events preceding the late monarch’s funeral, including the final vigil in Westminster Hall, because she is a non-working member of the royal family. On the other hand, Prince Andrew has been granted permission to wear his military uniform at the final vigil, but only for that one night.
