Prince William graduated from his Royal Air Force course to become a fully-fledged helicopter pilot on January 15, 2010 as he was watched by his girlfriend Kate Middleton.
The 27-year-old royal, who spent the past 12 months training, received his wings from his father, Prince Charles after completing his training at RAF Shawbury. Prince William passed with flying colors.
Prince William, who was known as Flight Lieutenant Wales, will move to RAF Valley in Anglesey, Wales, later in the month where he will be taught to fly Sea King helicopters. He will also develop his skills and learn how to maneuver the aircraft with pinpoint accuracy, which would enable him to rescue mountaineers or swimmers in treacherous conditions.
